Project Chat is controlled through WorkGuru permissions. Users with the Chat permission can participate in project conversations. This permission is turned on by default.
By default, the Project Manager and team members assigned to project tasks are included in the chat. Project Managers can manage who participates in their project conversations.
Businesses can also grant managers broader access so they can oversee and participate in chats across projects when required.

How do I create a Project Chat?
Open an active project in WorkGuru. If a chat hasn't already been created, click Create Chat for this Project. The relevant project team will already be included based on project assignments and permissions.
Why use Project Chat instead of WhatsApp, SMS or email?
WhatsApp, SMS and email often separate job conversations from the job itself. Project Chat keeps project communication inside WorkGuru, so messages, image updates and decisions stay connected to the project and remain available for the team to reference later.
Can new team members see previous Project Chat messages?
Yes. When someone is added to a project chat, they can see the conversation history. This helps new team members get up to speed without needing messages forwarded from other people or external chat apps.
Can Project Managers manage who is in a Project Chat?
Yes. Project Managers can manage participants in their own project chats, helping ensure the right people are included in the conversation.
Can managers oversee Project Chats across multiple projects?
Yes. Managers can be given broader access so they can oversee and participate in project chats across the business when required.
