Gantt Scheduling
Plan projects and tasks on a visual Gantt schedule.
View projects, production jobs and tasks across a daily timeline. Set start and finish dates, schedule individual tasks and adjust dates directly from the Gantt chart as the schedule changes.
Use the Gantt view to see when work is scheduled, how tasks are sequenced and where project purchasing sits against the planned work.

Overview
See projects, production jobs and tasks across a timeline.
A project rarely happens in one step.
WorkGuru’s Gantt Scheduling displays scheduled projects and production jobs using their start and finish dates.
For jobs that need more detailed planning, individual tasks can also be scheduled within the project timeline.
This gives you a visual view of the overall project alongside the individual stages of work that need to happen within it.

How it works
How WorkGuru Gannt Scheduling Works
Schedule at project level or plan individual tasks.
Each WorkGuru project or production job can be assigned a start and finish date. These dates determine where the project appears on the Gantt chart.
Individual tasks can then be scheduled within that project when more detailed planning is required.
Use the project timeline for straightforward jobs, or break larger projects into scheduled tasks to show when each stage of work is planned.
What’s inside
Gantt scheduling features
01
Drag-and-drop scheduling
Move projects and tasks directly on the Gantt chart to change their scheduled dates. Adjust the timeline without opening and updating each item individually.
02
Project and task scheduling
Schedule an entire project using its start and finish dates, or schedule individual tasks within the project for more detailed planning.
03
Sequential task scheduling
Schedule tasks in sequence to represent the order work needs to happen. When related tasks need to move, their scheduled dates can be adjusted together.
04
Purchase order delivery dates
Display unreceived project purchase orders on the Gantt schedule using their expected delivery dates. See planned material deliveries alongside the work they relate to.
05
Gantt schedule filters
Filter the Gantt chart by project manager, project, client or project status to control which scheduled work is displayed.
Capabilities
What it does
Capability
Drag-and-drop scheduling
Move projects and tasks directly on the Gantt chart when priorities, dates or circumstances change. Extend or shorten scheduled work to update start and finish dates without rebuilding the schedule from scratch.

Capability
Project and task scheduling
Schedule the entire project or go deeper and plan individual tasks. WorkGuru supports both scheduled and unscheduled tasks, so you only need to add the level of scheduling detail the job actually requires.

Capability
Schedule projects, tasks and staff in one view
The Gantt schedule is the easiest way to schedule projects, tasks and staff. Gantt scheduling will display the daily breakdown of a project or production job’s task schedule.

The schedule is part of the

FAQs
Common questions & Objections
“Our schedule changes every day.”
That’s exactly why the schedule needs to be easy to change.
Drag, drop, extend or shorten projects and tasks as dates move rather than rebuilding your plan somewhere else.
“Some jobs don’t need that much detail.”
Then don’t add it.
Every project has an overall schedule, but task scheduling is optional. Use task-level scheduling when it helps and keep simpler jobs simple.
“We already have a spreadsheet for this.”
A spreadsheet can show dates.
WorkGuru connects the schedule to the actual projects, production jobs, tasks, staff assignments and project purchasing information you’re already managing.
FAQs
Gantt Chart Scheduling Questions
What is Gantt chart software?
Gantt chart software displays project work across a visual timeline, helping teams understand when work starts, how long it is planned to take and when it needs to finish.
In WorkGuru, the Gantt chart is connected directly to your projects, production jobs and tasks.
Can WorkGuru schedule both projects and individual tasks?
Yes. Every project or production job has an overall start and finish date, while individual tasks can also be scheduled independently within that project timeline.
Can I reschedule projects using the Gantt chart?
Yes. Projects and tasks can be moved, extended or shortened directly from the Gantt schedule as dates and priorities change.
Can related tasks move together?
Yes. WorkGuru has an option to move related sequential tasks together. When an earlier task moves, following tasks can be rescheduled while maintaining their timing.
Can I see unscheduled tasks?
Yes. You can display tasks that don’t currently have their own start and finish dates and schedule them from the Gantt view.
Can I see purchase orders on the Gantt chart?
Unreceived project purchase orders can be displayed with their expected delivery date, helping provide additional context when planning upcoming project work.
What’s the difference between Gantt and Calendar Scheduling in WorkGuru?
Gantt Scheduling provides a day-by-day visual timeline for projects, production jobs and tasks. Calendar Scheduling provides more detailed scheduling where tasks and staff can be allocated specific start and finish times during the day.
