Ask ClickUp About Your WorkGuru Jobs

We’re testing a connection between WorkGuru and ClickUp. Connect your Workspace once, and ClickUp Brain and Super Agents can work with your live jobs, quotes, purchase orders, stock and invoices, right where your team already plans its week.

Example prompts

What your team can ask ClickUp about WorkGuru

Plain-English questions about the work on your floor. ClickUp Brain answers from your live WorkGuru data, and Super Agents can turn the answer into ClickUp tasks.

Due dates and stock

“Which WorkGuru jobs are due this week, and do we have the stock?”

Overdue work

“Turn overdue WorkGuru tasks into ClickUp tasks for the team.”

Quote follow-up

“Which quotes are still waiting on a client reply?”

Purchasing

“Has the steel for job J-4131 been ordered, and when is it due in?”

Billing

“Which finished jobs haven’t been invoiced yet?”

Stand-up notes

“Give me a short status on every job due next week for Monday’s stand-up.”

How it works

How the WorkGuru ClickUp integration works

ClickUp connects to WorkGuru through the WorkGuru MCP server, the same secure connection our Claude and ChatGPT integrations use. MCP (Model Context Protocol) is an open standard that lets an AI assistant use a set of tools in another app.

01

Your admin connects WorkGuru once

A ClickUp Workspace owner or admin adds the WorkGuru MCP server in ClickUp. It only needs doing once for the whole Workspace.

02

Each person signs in with their WorkGuru login

The first time someone uses it, ClickUp asks them to sign in to WorkGuru. Every request then runs as that person.

03

Brain and Super Agents use WorkGuru

Ask ClickUp Brain about a job, or add WorkGuru tools to a Super Agent so it can check jobs, quotes and stock as part of its work.

Setup for Workspace admins

How to connect WorkGuru to ClickUp Brain

Three steps in ClickUp. Have your WorkGuru login and the WorkGuru MCP server address from our setup guide ready.

1

Add WorkGuru as an MCP server in ClickUp

In ClickUp, open the App Center, choose MCP Servers, then Add Custom MCP Server. Pick For all members so the whole Workspace can use it, name it WorkGuru, and enter the WorkGuru MCP server address from our setup guide. Choose OAuth as the authentication method.

2

Enter the WorkGuru Client ID in Advanced configuration

Open Advanced configuration. WorkGuru doesn’t use dynamic client registration, so enter the Client ID below and leave the Client secret blank.

Client IDworkguru-mcp
Redirect URLhttps://search.clickup-prod.com/connect/mcp

Client secret: leave blank.

3

Sign in to WorkGuru and test it

When ClickUp asks, sign in with your WorkGuru login. Then open ClickUp Brain and ask a simple question, such as “Which WorkGuru jobs are due this week?” To give a Super Agent access, open its profile, go to Skills, choose Add tools and select WorkGuru on the MCP tab.

Good to know

No client secret needed: leave it blank.

ClickUp connections are set up from ClickUp in a web browser, by a Workspace owner or admin.

We’re still testing the ClickUp connection. We’ll confirm here when it’s ready.

Security and access

ClickUp only sees what you can see

Connecting ClickUp doesn’t open a side door into WorkGuru. Your permissions and business rules still apply to every request.

Everyone uses their own login

Each person signs in with their own WorkGuru account, so ClickUp only sees what that person can see in WorkGuru. If they can’t see job costings, neither can ClickUp.

Admins stay in control

A WorkGuru administrator has to allow a user to connect an AI agent before anyone can use it.

Drafts first

Quotes, invoices and purchase orders are created as drafts, so someone can check them before they’re issued or sent.

No deletes

There are no delete tools in the WorkGuru MCP server, and every action follows the same validation and audit trail as the WorkGuru app.

FAQs

WorkGuru ClickUp integration questions

Which ClickUp plans include Brain and Super Agents?

ClickUp Brain and Super Agents availability depends on your ClickUp plan, so check ClickUp’s current pricing page. ClickUp says any plan can connect an external MCP server for now, and that this may change.

Who sets up the WorkGuru ClickUp integration?

A ClickUp Workspace owner or admin adds the WorkGuru MCP server once, from ClickUp in a web browser. After that, each person signs in with their own WorkGuru login the first time they use it.

Do I need a client secret to connect WorkGuru to ClickUp?

No. WorkGuru doesn’t use a client secret for ClickUp. In Advanced configuration, enter the Client ID workguru-mcp and leave the Client secret blank.

What WorkGuru data can ClickUp see?

Only what the signed-in person can see in WorkGuru. ClickUp uses that person’s WorkGuru login, so their WorkGuru permissions decide which jobs, quotes, purchase orders, stock and invoices it can read.

Can ClickUp change data in WorkGuru?

Where the person’s WorkGuru permissions allow it, yes. For example, it can draft quotes, invoices and purchase orders or add a job note. Quotes, invoices and purchase orders start as drafts, and nothing can be deleted through the WorkGuru MCP server.

Is the WorkGuru ClickUp integration live yet?

Not yet. The ClickUp connection is in beta while we finish testing it. Register your interest and we’ll let you know as soon as it’s ready.
