At a glance
The short version

Platform purpose and scope
What each platform is for
WorkGuru
WorkGuru runs the work between winning a job and knowing what it made. Quote it, schedule it, buy for it, book time and materials against it, and see the real cost while the job is still open rather than after invoicing. It is deliberately not an accounting system, a payroll system or a dispatch board — those connect to it.
Tradify
Tradify is built for trades businesses that want a straightforward mobile workflow from customer enquiry through quoting, scheduling, field work, timesheets, purchasing, invoicing and payment. Its strengths are ease of use, technician scheduling, recurring jobs, customer communication and trade administration. It can record materials, supplier price-list items, purchase orders and job costs, but it is not a standalone inventory-management system. WorkGuru goes substantially deeper where the operating model includes workshop stages, substantial projects, stock control, warehouses, production jobs and procurement tied closely to job profitability.
Best-fit use cases
- Small trade and field-service businesses
- Teams dispatching people to many short jobs
- Businesses wanting an easy mobile-first path from enquiry to invoice
Industries and typical customers
Tradify targets trades such as electrical, plumbing, HVAC, building and other field/service businesses.

Commercials
Pricing, rollout and what it really costs
WorkGuru pricing, implementation and ownership
WorkGuru publishes modular pricing. The current commercial model is a platform fee including the first 10 users, additional per-user pricing, and optional modules such as Inventory, Workflow Automations and Advanced Forms. Use the live pricing page for current figures rather than duplicating numbers that can go stale. Buyers can start DIY, use WorkGuru-assisted onboarding, or use an implementation partner. Total ownership cost should be assessed across subscription, onboarding, migration, training, integrations and ongoing administration – not subscription price alone.
Tradify pricing
Published Australian pricing is per user/month: Lite AUD $48, Pro AUD $52 and Plus AUD $62 ex GST at the time of research, plus optional SMS/website add-ons. A Custom tier is available for larger teams.
Implementation and time to value
Free training and support are part of the published offering. The product is designed for quick self-service adoption rather than a formal ERP-style implementation.
Total cost and complexity of ownership
Simple per-user pricing, with additional cost for higher feature tiers and optional add-ons. Accounting remains connected through Xero, MYOB or QuickBooks.
Switching
Moving from Tradify to WorkGuru
Already using Tradify? WorkGuru can scope a migration rather than assuming a greenfield setup. The migration plan should identify the records you need to bring across, what can be imported, what should remain as historical reference, integration cutover, training and go-live. Exact scope, timing and cost depend on the quality and structure of the source data and the implementation path selected. Do not promise that every historical record or configuration will migrate until the source data has been assessed.
The verdict
The matrix is evidence. This is the buying advice.
Where Tradify is stronger
- Tradify is extremely well aligned to small trade businesses that want a simple mobile experience without the configuration depth of a larger industrial operations platform
- Its field scheduling model is built around quickly seeing staff availability and locations, booking jobs, dispatching people and changing appointments throughout the day
- Recurring jobs and service reminders are strong native workflows for trade businesses performing repeat maintenance and service work
- Trade-specific forms and compliance certificates are embedded into the field workflow and easy for technicians to complete from mobile devices
- Customer communications are streamlined, including enquiry capture, quote follow-ups, appointment reminders, invoice reminders, email tracking and SMS options
- Published per-user pricing, a full-feature trial and free training/support make Tradify comparatively easy for a small team to evaluate and adopt
Where WorkGuru is stronger
- WorkGuru is the stronger fit when work moves through a workshop, factory or substantial project structure rather than primarily through technician appointments
- Native inventory is a major distinction: WorkGuru manages stock, locations, multiple warehouses, stocktakes, serials, batches, FIFO, shortages and stock usage against jobs, whereas Tradify explicitly states that it does not currently have inventory management
- WorkGuru goes materially further in production and workshop planning through Production Jobs, Work Areas for bays/machines/departments, resource planning, project/task Kanban and Gantt scheduling
- Project variations in WorkGuru are part of the project workflow; Tradify handles variation-style work through separate jobs or tasks, which is a materially different operating model
- WorkGuru provides broader procurement depth around job/project purchasing and the developing RFQ/supplier-comparison workflow rather than primarily purchase-order administration
- WorkGuru’s workflow engine is a general trigger-condition-action automation layer across the operating system; Tradify automates useful specific workflows such as recurring jobs and reminders but does not publish an equivalent general workflow builder
- For fabrication, engineering and manufacturing businesses where labour, purchased materials, consumed stock and WIP determine job margin, WorkGuru’s operating model is substantially closer to the core problem
Choose Tradify if…
Choose Tradify if you are a small trade or field-service business managing lots of site work and want a simple, fast, mobile-first job management tool.
Choose WorkGuru if…
Choose WorkGuru if the work is larger, more project-based or workshop-heavy and you need deeper purchasing, stock, scheduling, job-costing and operational control.
The bottom line
Tradify can be the better choice when its core operating model matches the business. WorkGuru should win when the buyer needs a connected operational system around projects and workshop execution with a purpose-built industrial operations platform that can scale from SMB implementation through more structured assisted or partner-led rollouts.
FAQs
Tradify questions
Is WorkGuru a replacement for Tradify?
It can be when the business wants WorkGuru’s operating model and capability set. The right answer depends on which Tradify workflows are actually used today, integrations, data migration and any specialist requirements that must remain elsewhere.
Can we migrate from Tradify to WorkGuru?
Yes, migration can be scoped as part of implementation. What comes across, what remains as historical reference, timing and cost depend on the source data and agreed implementation plan.
Do we have to implement WorkGuru ourselves?
No. WorkGuru supports DIY implementation, WorkGuru-assisted onboarding and partner implementation. Choose the level of help that matches the complexity of the rollout.
How should we compare total cost?
Compare subscription, onboarding, migration, training, integrations and ongoing administration. Avoid comparing a single licence price where the platforms package scope differently.
Is WorkGuru cheaper than Tradify?
That depends on user count, modules, implementation scope and the systems each option replaces or still requires. Use current published pricing and a like-for-like implementation scenario rather than a blanket savings claim.

Checked 3 September 2026. WorkGuru verdicts are preserved from the supplied comparison page. Tradify was re-audited against current first-party product documentation.
Scope note: Tradify can manage materials, supplier price lists, purchasing and job costs, but its own documentation states it does not currently provide inventory management. Its Xero integration also does not directly turn Tradify into a payroll or award-interpretation system.
